Sacred Music
Sacred music was once confined to performance during religious ceremonies, but today, the rich variety of religiously influenced music is frequently performed in concert. From the spare recitation of Gregorian chant or Jewish psalms, to the complex polyphony of a Bach motet, all the way to the swinging melodies of Gospel voices, sacred music bears witness to the human search for spiritual connection through music.
