Kian Soltani possesses a remarkable ability to elicit a breathtaking sound from his cello, one that can be likened to the "softness and richness of caramel." This unique quality augurs exceptionally well for his performance of Elgar's Cello Concerto. Assisting him in this endeavor will be the Tonhalle‐Orchester Zürich, under the baton of their esteemed chief conductor, Paavo Järvi. Conductor: | Paavo Järvi Grammy‐award winning Paavo Järvi has built a remarkable conducting reputation. Born in Tallinn, Estonia, he studied percussion and conducting at the Tallinn School of Music then, in 1980, moved to the USA where he continued his studies at the Curtis Institute of Music and at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, with Leonard Bernstein.
