Eugene O'Neill Theatre
New York, USA
Named after the acclaimed American playwright, the Eugene O’Neill Theater on West 49th Street is one of a clutch of grand Broadway theaters designed in the 1920s by Herbert J. Krapp. Although built as a house for musicals by the Schubert brothers, the theater has presented numerous significant plays in its history, including the premieres of ‘All My Sons’, ‘Yentl’, and several works by Neil Simon, who owned the building in the 1970s. Musicals have not been far behind, however, and the theater hosted the original Broadway production of ‘Spring Awakening’ and has housed the smash hit ‘The Book of Mormon’ since 2011.
