About the Event

This remarkably varied and stimulating program begins with Mozart and culminates in a work by 20th century Austrian composer, Alexander von Zemlinsky. The Vienna Symphony Orchestra (Wiener Symphoniker) performs under Vladimir Jurowsky at the Wiener Konzerthaus.

The concert begins with Mozart's Symphony No. 32 in G major. For Richard Strauss' Oboe Concerto, the orchestra is joined by oboist Ines Galler. The evening closes with Alexander Zemlinsky's Lyric Symphony in seven songs, with soprano Anne Schwanewilms and baritone Thomas Hampson.
