Violin Recital: Midori at Palais im Großen Garten Dresden

Sonatas and partitas by Johann Sebastian Bach, coupled with two contemporary works: such will be the programme heard in the wonderful acoustics of the Palais im Großen Garten, marking the 40‐year anniversary of Midori’s stage debut. The violinist, who abandoned her last name for personal and familial reasons many years ago, henceforth using only her first name, celebrated success even as a child, but then also had to master various crises – none of which kept her from attaining world fame. »There is nothing between music and myself,« says the artist, who also holds an MA degree in psychology – perhaps that is a kind of summary of the four decades behind her, all of them marked by breath‐taking musical achievements.
