Trio Armstrong Bielow Brendel: Mozart, Haydn and Fauré

Relish the opportunity to hear three of the brightest stars in classical music as they join forces to play chamber works. Pianist Kit Armstrong, violinist Andrej Bielow, and cellist Adrian Brendel play works ranging from Rameau to Fauré.

Haydn's virtuosic trio in E major begins the concert, giving way to Fauré's late Trio in d minor — only the composer's second work in the genre. The fifth, and final, grouping of Rameau's idiosyncratic 'Pièces de clavecin en concerts' follows — a work very different from its Italianate peers — before the trio concludes the concert with Mozart's C major Trio, with its refined elegance and controlled ebullience.
