The Rake's Progress

About the Event

Experience a production of the Rake's Progress directed by award‐winning Russian director Dmitri Bertman at the Finnish National Opera.

The Rake's Progress was originally a set of prints created by William Hogarth in the 18th century, a morality tale depicting a young man's path from pleasure to ruin. Igor Stravinsky added ingredients of the Faust myth to his version of the tale. The result is an operatic masterpiece.
