About the Event

The collaboration between the Dresdner Musikfestspiele and Dresden's Technical University, known as "Sound & Science," immerses the audience in the world of contemporary real‐time technologies. Research suggests that the most profound musical experiences occur during live concerts, as listeners physically engage with the music and contribute to the overall atmosphere. To shed light on the phenomenon of real‐time remote presence, Prof. Dr. Frank Ellinger and Dr. Christin Lübke from TU Dresden, along with Prof. Dr. Alexander Carôt from Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, will lead a discussion titled "Time to Get in Touch." They will explore the differences between physical and remote presence, and whether real‐time experiences can enhance the transmission of emotions. Following this thought‐provoking discussion, moderated by Marvin Rosé from Leipzig University, the audience will have the opportunity to attend a "remote concert." In this unique performance, live music will be presented through modern communication technologies.
