Sekretärinnen at Oper Leipzig

About the Event

With a mix of musical recitals and songs, 'Sekretärinnen' gives us a vivid and ironic insight into the work of half a million women in Germany. Today they are given professional names such as 'assistants' or 'office managers', but the clichés remain the same. Say it out loud and you'll be reminded of a well‐dressed young woman whose tasks could range from making coffee, calling on the phone for hours on end while applying nail polish, to reminding your boss it's his beloved wife's birthday. Or images of an old maid with an iron fist, watching the entrance of her boss' office as if Cerberus were watching the gates of the underworld.

'Sekretärinnen', a work by Franz Wittenbrink shows us through an exciting show the great diversity in this profession, learning first‐hand the hidden talents that these attendees have. From the shyest home mom to the vampire and head curator of the office, it's all here!

The public and the press are convinced: This show is a success!
