San Maurizio in Musica: Jazz Goes Classic

About the Event

Immerse yourself in the stunning architecture of Milan's breathtaking and lovely San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, the 'Sistine Chapel of Milan', for the ultimate concert set to awake your understanding of jazz and classical music.

Czech composer Erwin Schulhoff was one of the first musicians to incorporate elements inferred from jazz into the language of so‐called 'cultured' music, a fact that became habitual in many composers of the second half of the twentieth century. Such as Bernstein, Weill and Piazzolla. Today's concert will also be an opportunity to discover the happy compositional vein of contemporary American musician Ricky Ian Gordon.
