About the Event
In the spring of 1829, in a Berlin long pervaded by romantic fires, Felix Mendelssohn managed to represent, for the first time since the death of J. S. Bach, his Passion according to Matthew, a composition at the time unknown but that did not delay in awakening immense enthusiasm. One hundred and ninety years after that memorable rebirth, the great Bach masterpiece has never ceased to excite the musical world for its musical depth and unattainable dramatic intensity.
