Rossini's Ermione: Théâtre des Champs‐Elysées
About the Event
Do not miss the chance to discover Rossini's rarely performed "Ermione", in a concert version with the Orchestre et Chœurs de l’Opéra National de Lyon under the direction of Alberto Zedda.
Breaking with the buffa genre, Rossini composed "Ermione" in 1819, a tragic opera based on the play "Andromaque" by Jean Racine, and taking place at a time soon after the Trojan War. Forgotten for a long time, this opera was rediscovered in the 1970's, more than 100 years after the composer's death.
