The Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin presents works by Pärt, Schnittke, Arensky, and Tchaikovsky led by Rachael Young in their concert titled “Passion” in the Berlin Philharmonie.

Arvo Pärt's mystical work “Fratres” unites sensuality and piety. This powerful piece is filled with the haunting simplicity of sounding bells. Alfred Schnittke's virtuosic Piano Concerto will be performed by Viktoria Postnikova – a work with waltzes, jazz, and liturgical chant elements united in a fascinating polyphony. A melancholy tribute is paid to the deeply revered Tchaikovsky by composer Anton Arensky, followed by Tchaikovsky's own Serenade for Strings in C Major, a delicate Nachtmusik with Russian temperament.
