Pieter Wispelwey Plays Lalo's Cello Concerto: Concertgebouw
About the Event
Edouard Lalo's colorful and sensual Cello Concerto is at the heart of this program at the Concertgebouw. The extraordinarily talented and versatile cellist, Pieter Wispelwey, performs with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra (Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest).
The program begins with Mendelssohn's "Hebrides" Overture and closes with Schumann's "Rheinische" Symphony, a loving musical reflection of the composer's travels along the Rhine River with his beloved Clara.
