Piano Recital Igor Levit
Dresden, Kulturpalast Dresden — Main Hall
About the Event
Igor Levit, a celebrated pianist on the international stage, shares similarities with the renowned Alfred Brendel. However, Levit possesses not only immense talent but also a thought‐provoking approach to his craft. He delves into events beyond the horizon and actively participates in the resulting discussions. Recognizing his social activism, Levit was honored with the prestigious International Beethoven Prize in 2019 and the Carl von Ossietzky Prize in 2022. These accolades are just a fraction of the numerous musical awards Levit has garnered throughout his remarkable career. Coming from Nizhny Novgorod in 1987, Levit relocated to Germany with his family when he was eight years old. With awe‐inspiring renditions of Mahler and Beethoven symphonies, as well as Hindemith's memorable suite "1922," Levit, at last, makes his long‐awaited debut at the Musikfestspiele.
