From Monteverdi, Rossi, Sartorio, Gluck, to Offenbach and Birtwistle, the Orpheus tale has been a rich source of material for operatic composers. Acclaimed the world over for his interpretation of the role, Jaroussky and soprano Amanda Forsythe explore the many Baroque renderings of the Orpheus myth, culminating in the premiere of an unpublished version of Gluck's setting of the story.
