Patricia Kopatchinskaja & Orchestra: Dies Irae at Dresden Music Festival

About the Event

What answers can music give to our modern society and its current issues and problems? In her staged concert titled 'Dies irae', the Moldovan violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja wants to set a musical example: Together with the Orchestra of Change, she sets out to sound through the centuries with soundtracking. Starting with the 'Dies irae', the shattering medieval hymn about the end of the world, the musicians explore moods, fears and feelings of the time with compositions from baroque to works after 1945. Kopatchinskaya bravely looks out of the cozy concert hall into our world, whose beauty is threatened by hunger, wars, environmental destruction and climatic changes.
