Moses und Aron: Paris Opera

About the Event

Stage director Romeo Castellucci makes his long‐awaited debut at the Paris Opera with Schöneberg’s masterwork, “Moses und Aron”, with Philippe Jordan conducting.

Despite his early conversion to Protestantism, Schöneberg was the target of antisemitic attacks in 1921, leading him to return to his Jewish roots. Initially conceived as a cantata, his project grew to become a philosophic opera opposing the two brothers, Moses and Aaron, representing radicalness and compromise.

Sung in German, with English and French surtitles.
