'Perfection' is perhaps the best word to describe what the singers of the Moscow Cathedral Choir are striving for at every concert. The old chorales of the Russian Orthodox liturgy have never been sung differently from a cappella. In the voice lies the power that still today, according to over a thousand years of tradition, reaches the people.

As one of Russia's finest choirs, the Moscow Cathedral Choir brings together not only outstanding voices, but also the world's deepest basses, known as 'octavists', of which there are only a handful overall. 'Missa Mystica' sees itself as a spiritual project that builds bridges: between East and West, between the Gregorian songs of Western culture and the great tradition of the Russian Orthodox Church.
