Miriam Feuersinger: Bach Cantatas at L'auditori de Barcelona
About the Event
The Bach Zum Mitsingen project was born in 2011 and includes the BZM Chamber Choir and the BZM Ensemble. The objective of the project is to create historically‐informed performances of the complete series of Johann Sebastian Bach’s cantatas, often with audience participation.
In the concert that will be presented at L’Auditori, Bach Zum Mitsingen invites Austrian soprano Miriam Feuersinger to perform as a soloist. She was recently awarded the ECHO KLASSIK prize and is a member of De Nederlandse Bachvereniging, one of the most prestigious Baroque ensembles in the Netherlands. Also invited to perform will be young solo singers who are recipients of the Beca Bach grant, an initiative sponsored by the Fundación Salvat that has the backing of renowned international soloists such as Carlos Mena, Stephan MacLeod and Katharine Fuge, who support young singers in performing the music of Bach. The concert programme consists of the cantatas Liebster Jesu, mein Verlangen, BWV 32 Mein liebster Jesus ist verloren, BWV 154 and Meine Herze schwimmt im Blut, BWV 199, pieces of immense expressiveness that include veritable treasures of the Baroque vocal repertoire.
