Martynas Levickis & Iveta Apkalna
Pirna, Stadtkirche St. Marien — Main
About the Event
In Pirna, the Church of St Mary stands as a remarkable example of Gothic architecture from the early 16th century. This grand hall church is considered one of the largest in Saxony. It is within this impressive setting that two extraordinary musicians, Iveta Apkalna and Martynas Levickis, are about to meet for a truly unique artistic collaboration.
Iveta Apkalna, a renowned organist from Latvia, is widely recognized as one of the world's leading soloists on her instrument. Martynas Levickis, on the other hand, gained international acclaim at a young age with his accordion performances on some of the greatest stages. Now, they are coming together to create a very special soundscape for their audience.
For this extraordinary encounter, Apkalna and Levickis will perform unconventional arrangements of works by acclaimed composers such as Boëllmann and Vivaldi. Through the harmonious fusion of their related, yet distinct, instruments, these two exceptional performers will captivate their audience with their talent and creativity.
