Le Chœur de Paris at Notre‐Dame des Blancs Manteaux Church: Stabat Mater

About the Event

In this highly‐anticipated concert, hear the mellifluous sounds of classical music by Antonio Vivaldi and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi at Paris's treasured and world‐renowned Eglise Notre‐Dame‐des‐Blancs‐Manteaux.

The Chœur de Paris presents three works based on the figure of the Virgin Mary: Vivaldi's Magnificat and Stabat Mater, followed by Pergolesi's Stabat Mater in a version for mixed choir and two soloists. The Magnificat, a song of praise, offers lyrical and dramatic aspects, combining choir and solo voices. The Stabat Mater, with its poignant text on the Virgin's grief, demonstrates Pergolesi's compositional strength and Vivaldi's vision for a solo alto voice. Véronique Housseau, soprano and Yété Queiroz, alto, the ensemble Les Muses Galantes conducted by Till Aly and the Chœur de Paris will perform these magnificent works.
