About the Event

This journey will give you detailed insight into the life of the Habsburg dynasty. You will visit the Imperial Apartments as well as the Sisi Museum where everything revolves around a fascinating woman who was a living legend in her time. By taking the tour of Schoenbrunn Palace, you will discover the way the Habsburg royalty used to live, dine and govern. Afterwards, do what kings and queens used to do: enjoy a delicious dinner at Café-Restaurant Residenz, followed by an evening of classical music at the Schoenbrunn Palace Orangery. The renowned Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra will enchant you with its interpretation of the most beautiful works created by Mozart and Strauß.

The Vienna Imperial Palace (Hofburg) used to be the residence of the Habsburg dynasty for over 600 years. Visit the 19 ceremonial rooms and residential apartments used by Emperor Franz Joseph and his beloved wife Sisi to gain insight into what life was like at the Vienna Court. Follow the traces of mysterious Empress Sisi at the Sisi Museum. Numerous exhibits on display will guide you through the many aspects of Sisi's fascinating personality. Explore her rebellious side, her beauty‐conscious side and her poetic side. Find you own and very personal approach to this extravagant Empress.

The dinner

The dinner is taking place in the Café-Restaurant Residenz. This building located in the so‐called Ehrenhof ('Court of Honor') is adjacent to the palace's main entrance. An elegant three‐course candlelight dinner awaits you. In summer, dinner will be served in the cozy outside dining area.

Palace tour

Schoenbrunn Palace used to be Empress Maria Theresia's sumptuous summer residence. It is Austria's most visited tourist attraction and has been declared a world heritage site by UNESCO. Numerous generations of Habsburgs used to spend their summers here, never failing to host luxurious festivities. When booking a Sisi package, you also have the option of choosing a Palace tour. An audioguide will accompany your tour of the private chambers and ceremonial rooms of Schoenbrunn Palace. Groups of more than 10 will enjoy an exclusive guided tour given by one of the palace's guides, after the palace has closed for the public and quieted down.

The concert

Your evening is rounded off by a wonderful concert at the Schoenbrunn Palace Orangery. This historic baroque hall, which, being a part of Schoenbrunn Palace, has been declared a UNESCO world heritage, was highly appreciated by the Habsburg royalty. We have revived this tradition by offering a concert that you will remember long after having left Vienna. The renowned Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra presents the most famous works written by W.A. Mozart and Johann Strauß, the 'Viennese King of Waltz'. This enchanting music will be accompanied by the performance of vocalists and ballet dancers that will delight your eyes and ears alike.
