L’Elisir d’Amore: Gran Teatre del Liceu

About the Event

Enjoy L’elisir d’amore by Gaetano Donizetti at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, in the heart of Barcelona.

Mario Gas places the original action in fascist Rome, with fond memories of neo‐realist cinema.
The star‐studded cast includes Slovakian tenor Pavol Breslik in the role of Nemorino together with three more stars, Australian soprano Jessica Pratt as Adina, baritone Paolo Bordogna, and basso buffo veteran Roberto de Candia in the role of Dulcamara.

L’elisir d’amore (Milan, 1832), one of Gaetano Donizetti's best loved operas, marked a step forward in the evolution of opera buffa by enabling comic characters to show emotions and feelings as well.
