Palestinian composer Moneim Adwan's opera, 'Kalîla wa Dimna', is based on the eighth century classic of the same name by Ibn Al‐Muqaffa. The story treads a fine line between human and animal, fable and tragedy, Arabic and French, Western form and Eastern music, to tell a tale of idealism crushed by ambition.
