About the Event

Founded in 2014 by trombonist Roman Sladek and some of his fellow students at the Munich Academy of Music and Theatre, the Jazzrausch Bigband has achieved a revered status in the music scene today. Combining elements of jazz, classical, and electronic dance music, this Techno Big Band delivers an unparalleled musical experience in their concerts. Whether performing as the house band at Munich's renowned Techno club Harry Klein, gracing the stage at the prestigious Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, or captivating audiences at jazz festivals around the world from Nairobi and New York to Shanghai, the Jazzrausch Bigband never fails to captivate with its immense stage presence. With their program "Bruckner's Breakdown," the ensemble takes listeners on an orchestral sound‐cloud journey infused with dubstep grooves, filling concert halls and festival stages with an electrifying energy. To breathe new life into Bruckner's symphonies and showcase his own compositions, Leonhard Kuhn's arrangements have expanded the ensemble to include horns, percussion, bassoons, and three string players. These concerts become a crucible of our musical present, blending past and present in a truly remarkable way. After their successful debut at the Reithalle in 2019, the Jazzrausch Bigband now brings their homage to Bruckner to the Stromwerk.
