Celebrate the conjunction of East & West as the Korean Gyenoggi Philharmonic marks the centenary of Isang Yun's birth with a concert that combines the master's work with pieces by Ligeti and Yun's protégé, Toshio Hosokawa.
Two very different aesthetics meet in Yun's work — peace and a gentle evolution meet constant rhythmic energy, harmonies from different modes and soundscapes blend in melodic tapestries of sound — symbolic of a life, and lifework, inspired equally by the musical world of his birth and his adopted homeland.
