The inner courtyard of the Deutsche Werkstätten in Hellerau has been providing an atmospheric venue for high‐caliber world music concerts for several years during the Dresden Music Festival. This year we are going to Portugal, a country full of joie de vivre, versatility and wild beauty. The guest of the evening is Gisela João, a young singer who is considered the new star of the Fado Sky and winner of the »Amalia Best New Artist Award«. The extraordinary artist, who lives in Lisbon in the district of Mouraria, the birthplace of modern Fado, knows how to combine traditional Portuguese music with contemporary, urban sounds and give her an exciting topicality. With her full, warm voice, Gisela João takes the listener on a highly emotional musical journey marked by love, longing and wanderlust.
