Opera
Opera proposes that an emotional story is better expressed in song than with the spoken word. It is a premise as glorious as it is absurd, and generations of audiences have been convinced by opera’s unique form of expression. From its birth in Italy at the turn of the 17th century, opera has brought brave heroes, tragic heroines, stories of love, betrayal, friendship, murder, and much more to the stage. Opera can be a grand, larger-than-life affair, and yet at its best, the music touches the most intimate emotions.
