From Classics to Gospels at St. Stephen’s Cathedral

About the Event

Enjoy a cappella program ranging from classical to gospel, including works by Mendelssohn and Bruckner, with the Oregon State University Chamber Choir at Vienna's St. Stephen's Cathedral.

In recent years, the Oregon State University Chamber Choir, under the direction of Dr. Steven Zielke, has established itself as an outstanding choir in the northwestern United States, attracting attention both nationally and internationally. For example, the choir was awarded the Grand Prize at the 'Festival of Light' in Bulgaria in 2001 and has received numerous other awards at national and international choral festivals and competitions. The Chamber Choir has performed in many impressive venues, churches and concert halls, including a performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony in the famous Prague Hall and Prague Castle.

The choir has increased its popularity through numerous national and international concert tours, including Germany, China, Colombia, and various parts of the United States. Many of the choir members are pursuing careers in music, either as music teachers or as singers, while other members are studying very different fields. However, all members of the choir are united by their common love of the arts and vocal music.
