Festival la Rivelazione delle Compositrici: Meditation

About the Event

In this highly‐anticipated concert, hear the mellifluous sounds of chamber music by Fauré, Bonis and Strohl at Venice's treasured and world‐renowned Palazzetto Bru Zane.

In XIX century the piano was seen as a perfect instrument for women, for the decent and acceptable posture that it demanded to be played. The cello was forbidden instead, for the dangerous sensuality of the position of the legs. Nevertheless, this didn't stop the female composers of the Belle Époque, who managed to master the cello to express their voices.
