Fabiano Martignago, Angelica Selmo: Talents at Bologna Festival

About the Event

Since the late 17th century, the Sonata a due has been a rich source of musical experimentation, paving the way for a new style known as two‐part writing. Fabiano Martignago and Angelica Selmo embark on a carefully curated exploration of this genre, which reached the height of its popularity in the 18th century. With a repertoire that includes original compositions and transcriptions, these two talented musicians, already established as solo artists, showcase works by Telemann and Vivaldi as well as lesser‐known pieces by composer‐performers Francesco Barsanti and Johann Ernst Galliard. Hailing from Italy and Germany, these composers made significant contributions to English musical culture, adding depth and diversity to the duo's performance.
