Experience Carl Maria von Weber's Overture from the Opera Der Freischuetz and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's Violin Concerto in E minor and Fifth Symphony in a unique concert given by Leonidas Kavakos and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Christoph Eschenbach.

Von Weber's work which premiered in 1821 was seen by many as the first German national opera. The Overture to this great work will open this evening's concert followed by one of Mendelsohn Bartholdy's most successful and most popular works, his Violin Concerto in E minor.
