Easter Sunday Brandenburg Concertos

About the Event

No other composer is as interwoven with the Easter season as Johann Sebastian Bach.

The St. Matthew Passion and the Easter Oratorio are the best known examples. In actuality Bach wrote works for all days from Holy Thursday to Easter Monday. Bach also wrote secular pieces that capture the atmosphere of the Easter season. The Hofkapelle Munich released a recording of the composer's Brandenburg Concertos in 2013 to great critical acclaim. Enjoy this festive performance at the Concertgebouw.
