Dudamel & Vienna Philharmonic: Grafenegg Summer Festival

About the Event

For the finale of the 2014 Grafenegg Festival, the Vienna Philharmonic performs under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel.

The native Venezuelan has long stood for a new wave of enthusiasm for orchestral music, and not only in his home country. With the Vienna Philharmonic, Gustavo Dudamel opens with a work by the Austrian composer René Staar, a member of the Vienna State Opera Orchestra. This is followed by «Tod und Verklärung» as a final nod to Richard Strauss in his 150th anniversary year. With Dvoráks Eighth Symphony, the Grafenegg Festival comes to a close.
