Dresden Music Festival: Erdmann, Vogler, Widmann, Kozhukhin at Annenkirche

About the Event

In this highly‐anticipated concert, hear the mellifluous sounds of chamber music by Schubert, Schumann, von Weber and Widmann at Dresden's treasured and world‐renowned Annenkirche.

When four celebrated artists in their field share the stage, an evening of chamber music in a class of its own is to be expected. The soprano Mojca Erdmann, the cellist Jan Vogler, the clarinettist Jörg Widman, who also introduces himself as a composer in the concert, and the pianist Denis Kozhukhin enter into diverse and sonorous musical dialogues: In addition to the 'Five Pieces in Folk Tone' by Schumann, who also enjoyed cello lessons in his younger years, two colourful and virtuoso Lied compositions by Schubert will be heard. In addition, Widmann's early composition 'Nachtstück', which Jan Vogler helped to premiere, and Weber's brilliant dialogue between clarinet and piano, the 'Grand Duo Concertant', will add further inspiring facets to the programme.
