At each performance you will meet great artists and performers with the most beautiful arias from the operas of Verdi and Puccini as well as the most inspiring Italian songs and Oscar‐winning soundtracks.
Come with the whole family and take a seat in the enchanting halls of the Piano Nobile: the musicians of Palazzo Zeno are ready to make your evening an unforgettable experience of pure musical magic.

Location

Located just a few steps from the Basilica dei Frari in the San Polo district, Palazzo Zeno was built at the end of the 14th century by Carlo Zeno, the 'Capitano da mar', the hero of the War of Chioggia between Venice and Genoa. The palace was later remodeled several times, with the most important and far‐reaching renovation being the work of architect Antonio Gasparri, who was commissioned by Alessandro Zeno, the Serenissima's ambassador to the court of King Louis XV in Versailles.
All the rooms of the palace are decorated with frescoes and stucco work by the most important artists of the time, such as Antonio Pellegrini, Jacopo Guarana, Abbondio Stazio and Amigoni.
The Zeno family has played an important role in Venetian history since the time of the Serenissima: One of them was Doge (Renier Zeno, 1253) and other descendants were ambassadors, senators and cardinals.

Concerti a Palazzo: Omaggio a Verdi e Puccini

You will experience a meeting of intense emotions and unforgettable melodies in which the greatness of Verdi's and Puccini's operas is combined with the timeless genius of Ennio Morricone. The rousing and immortal arias from 'La Traviata' and 'La Boheme' merge with the charm of Neapolitan and Venetian music and the expressive power of the Italian Oscar‐winning composer's film music to create a unique and captivating experience.
The first part of the program includes arias and duets from La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi and from La Bohème and Turandot by Giacomo Puccini. Giacomo Puccini (1858‐1924) will be celebrated on the 100th anniversary of his death with performances of Nessun Dorma, L'ultimo Stelle and O Mio Babbino Caro.
After a short intermission, we will be able to enjoy the most beautiful melodies of Italian opera and the Neapolitan and Venetian songs that have made Italy known throughout the world as the land of 'bel canto'. The last part of the concert is a tribute to Italian song classics such as: 'Non Ti scordar di me', 'Torna a Surriento' and 'O Sole mio', the latter arranged by Maestro Morricone.
