KODO, the legendary Japanese drum ensemble, is breathtakingly fast and skilled, stunningly virtuosic and precise, astonishingly melodic—and enormously athletic. With KODO, the art of Japanese drumming began its triumphant march around the world over 40 years ago. Its fascination remains unbroken to this day.
Every year, the Japanese drum virtuosos of the KODO group leave their secluded island of Sado to set concert halls in Asia, the USA, and Europe alight on their legendary tours. Deeply rooted in the ancient taiko drumming tradition, their rousing language is understood everywhere. Because KODO is rhythm, power, and energy. The legendary Japanese drum ensemble is breathtakingly fast and skilled, stunningly virtuosic and precise, amazingly melodic – and enormously athletic. The members of the troupe have mastered an art that is as ancient and fascinating as traditional Japanese swordsmanship or the art of archery. With their muscular arms, the devil drummers make their huge tree drums vibrate, roar, and rage, creating a sound that relentlessly makes its way.
