Sabine Meyer & Armida Quartett at Philharmonie Berlin
Berlin, Philharmonie Berlin — Kammermusiksaal
About the Event
Born in Crailsheim, Sabine Meyer studied in Stuttgart and Hanover before embarking on a career with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. She then took up a position as principal clarinetist with the Berlin Philharmonic, which she soon gave up, not least because she was increasingly in demand internationally as a freelance soloist.
In more than 30 years, she has given countless concerts and made radio and television appearances in all the world's major music centers. As a luminary in her field, Sabine Meyer has performed with over 300 orchestras and is known for her incomparably breathy, blossoming tone.
The “Queen of the Clarinet” also regularly graces Berlin with guest appearances – as she is doing now at the end of her incomparable career with a farewell concert.
