Piano Recital at Philharmonie Berlin: Vladimir Mogilevsky — Frédéric Chopin Gala
Berlin, Philharmonie Berlin — Kammermusiksaal
About the Event
Vladimir Mogilevsky is an official artist of Steinway & Sons and a prize winner at numerous international festivals and competitions, having received, among other honors, the International Prize for the best interpretation of a Beethoven sonata in Portugal, the “Grand Prix” for a duo recital with Vadim Repin in Macedonia, and the International Music Prize “For Outstanding Achievements in the Art of Music” in Berlin. He has made his debut in nearly all European countries, as well as in Israel, Turkey, China, Mexico, and South Africa. He performs regularly in all major concert halls in Germany (having given over 100 concerts in total at the Berlin Philharmonie
and the Berlin Konzerthaus alone).
He has performed and recorded on original historical keyboard instruments, including those of Mozart, Beethoven, and Liszt. In addition to his concert activities, he teaches masterclasses worldwide and serves as a jury member at various competitions.
He is also passionate about jazz, composing and improvising. Even the legendary Oscar Peterson, whom Vladimir had the privilege of meeting and to whom he dedicated several of his works, held Mogilevsky’s music in high regard and included it in his archive at the Canadian National Library in 1997.
At the request of Oscar winner Michel Morales Escobar, the music video “A Dream in Venice” (Liszt’s “Liebestraum”) was filmed with Mogilevsky.
Vladimir Mogilevsky was born in Moscow, where his talent was nurtured from an early age, enabling him to perform pieces at prestigious festivals by the age of 8. Mogilevsky graduated from the Gnessin Academy of Music with the highest honors as a concert pianist. Vladimir Mogilevsky has lived in Germany since 1995.
