Philharmonie Berlin: Flamenco Vivo
Berlin, Philharmonie Berlin — Kammermusiksaal
About the Event
Flamenco Vivo can be translated as “living” flamenco or even flamenco “live”. Originating in the south of Spain, the art of flamenco has almost conquered the whole world over the last few decades. Flamenco Vivo is an international ensemble of five top‐class artists from five nations and three continents. The focus is on spirited, expressive dance. Virtuoso guitar playing and passionate singing merge with it on stage into an impressive unity. Flamenco is a living art that is constantly evolving. For example, string instruments have also become a popular and welcome enrichment of flamenco music.
Flamenco Vivo touches the audience with the delicate interplay of baile (dance), toque (guitar) and cante (singing), in which the viola continually conjures up new timbres. The ensemble consists of: Cayetana de Ronda (dance) and the singer Carmen Celada, who also leads through the evening with little stories about flamenco art, Azusa Krist (viola) and the flamenco guitarist Georg Kempa.
