Kammerakademie Potsdam & John Storgårds at Philharmonie Berlin
Berlin, Philharmonie Berlin — Kammermusiksaal
About the Event
Conductor John Storgårds makes his KAP debut with imaginative musical dialogues, accompanied by soloists Antje Weithaas, Marie‐Elisabeth Hecker, and Martin Helmchen
“You can look forward to what follows without hesitation!” writes Clara Schumann about her three romances, with which Finnish conductor John Storgårds demonstrates his creative flair in programming right from the start. As chief conductor of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and a celebrated guest conductor with major international orchestras, he captivates audiences with his rousing yet refined performances.
This marks his first collaboration with the KAP, and he combines music from his Nordic homeland with Ludwig van Beethoven’s impressive “Triple Concerto.” The three soloists—Antje Weithaas, Marie‐Elisabeth Hecker, and Martin Helmchen—know each other well—certainly an advantage when Beethoven encourages musical dialogues, discussions, and entertaining, imaginative phrases in his work.
