Elena Bashkirova & Friends
Berlin, Philharmonie Berlin — Kammermusiksaal
About the Event
“Chamber music is the soul of music”—Elena Bashkirova has followed this credo for decades in her diverse roles as a pianist, song accompanist, ensemble musician, and program curator. At the heart of her music‐making lies the dialogue between the voices and the search for the unique sound of a work. Hailing from a Russian musical dynasty, the artist has lived in Berlin with her husband, Daniel Barenboim, since 1992, where she is active not only as a performer but also as a driving force in the city’s musical life. This December, Bashkirova will perform alongside fellow musicians. The evening will center on Mozart’s Piano Concertos Nos. 12, 13, and 14, which, in arrangements for piano and string quintet, reveal a special chamber‐music‐like transparency.
