When swing meets the magic of Christmas, the result is a concert experience brimming with warmth and nostalgia. With “Christmas in Swing,” the Swing Dance Orchestra presents the most beautiful American Christmas classics—faithfully arranged in the style of the 1930s through the 1950s and with the stylistic authenticity for which the orchestra has been celebrated for years. Since this season, David Hermlin has been leading the ensemble, continuing the tradition of his father, Andrej Hermlin, with great sensitivity, new arrangements, and fresh energy. Together with singer Rachel Hermlin and the ensemble, a musical evening unfolds that brings a new sparkle to familiar favorites. Look forward to timeless melodies such as “Winter Wonderland,” “Let It Snow,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” and “White Christmas,” performed in the Hermlins’ very own style.
