Aurora Orchestra at Philharmonie Berlin
Berlin, Philharmonie Berlin — Grosser Saal
About the Event
They are among the most innovative artists currently on the classical music scene: Hayato Sumino “Cateen” and the Aurora Orchestra.
When they share the stage, an evening full of rhythm and ecstasy is guaranteed. Despite having 1.5 million YouTube subscribers, the young Japanese pianist Hayato Sumino, also known as Cateen, is not a fleeting internet phenomenon, but above all an “astonishing virtuoso” (BR‐Klassik). The Steinway artist and semi‐finalist of the 2021 International Chopin Competition gives sold‐out concerts worldwide, demonstrating his talent and interest in sound experiments every time.
He shares this innovative spirit with the Aurora Orchestra and conductor Nicholas Collon. Every performance by the British ensemble is a journey of discovery, as it plays parts of its programs from memory and standing up. In recent years, the ensemble has further advanced its trademark and is considered the first orchestra to perform without sheet music. This intense internalization of the compositions allows the musicians a more devoted approach to the music. With Stravinsky's “Le sacre du printemps,” they are sure to bring the Philharmonie to a boil.
