Brockes Passion: Ensemble Pygmalion

About the Event

As the Passiontide comes to an end and Easter approaches, Baroque music expert Raphaël Pichon conducts Brockes' Passion at the Philharmonie de Paris. Ensemble Pygmalion and excellent vocal soloists perform Telemann's interpretation of Barthold Brockes' text.

Telemann was only one of several composers who set Brockes' libretto on the last days of Christ to music. The work premiered in 1716 in Frankfurt to great success.
