Beethoven, Puccini & Mozart: Sounds and Spaces
About the EventClose
Works by Beethoven, Puccini and Mozart are featured in this Sounds and Spaces concert at The Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii with members of the Chicago Chamber Musicians.
CCM ensemble artist Larry Combs will be spotlighted on Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet, known for its warmth and mellowness. While best known for his operas, Giacomo Puccini’s Cristantemi is one of the composer’s rare contributions to the chamber music repertoire. Written in a single night in 1890 as a response to the death of the Duke of Savoy, this elegy is seldom heard in its original string quartet version.
Enjoy chamber music in fascinating architectural spaces! Tour the space, hear the complimenting concert, and meet the musicians at the post-concert reception.
