About the Event
The bassist, singer, composer, arranger and band leader Avishai Cohen, who comes from the northern Israeli Kabri, is one of the radiant exceptions of jazz. The 'Bass Player Magazine' listed him among the 100 most influential bassists of the 20th century. After collaborating with Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and Bobby McFerrin he started his own musical career from 2003 onwards and from 2008 with his trio, establishing himself as one of the most important jazz voices with his now seventeen albums and acclaimed concerts. In 2020, the musician celebrates his 50th birthday — an event he will celebrate with 50 concerts in 50 countries. The music festival is very happy that he is making a stop in Dresden on this special world tour with his trio for the only Germany concert!
