Academy of St Martin in the Fields & the Jussen Brothers: Kammerorchester International
About the Event
Relish the expertise and astonishing sound of one of the world's most celebrated chamber ensembles. Tomo Keller leads the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, and their guests — the acclaimed Dutch pianists, Lukas and Arthur Jussen — in Bach, Britten, and Vaughan Williams.
Both Britten and Vaughan Williams drew on the inspiration of earlier musicians — in Britten's case, Frank Bridge, in that of Vaughan Williams, Thomas Tallis — to create their own works. Bach's 'Brandenburg Concertos' have often provided inspiration to generations of musicians following in the master's footsteps, but here we hear the original, alongside two of Bach's Double Keyboard Concertos.
