The Magic Flute at the Waldbühne: Deutsche Oper Berlin Open‐Air

About the Event

The Deutsche Oper Berlin's production of Mozart's fantastical opera comes to Berlin's most famous outdoor stage.

Mozart's Magic Flute makes another appearance in a production specially created for the Waldbühne by Gerlinde Pelkowski, supervisor at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. The Chorus and Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, as well as a line‐up of high‐class soloists, perform Mozart's most popular work.

Pamina, Tamino, as well as the bird‐catcher Papageno and his Papagena must deal with exciting and dangerous tests. They are in for a difficult road, which leaves them all a little more mature at the end of the opera. However, the realization that love is the key to a successful life is not only a lesson for the young: it is an insight that comes from the humanist message of the Magic Flute.
